By creating an account, or by accessing or using Collected Notes (the "Service") — including the web app, native apps, API, CLI, and MCP server — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Collected Notes lets you write Markdown notes, sync them across your devices and a local folder, publish them to a site, and collaborate with AI agents through the API, CLI, and MCP server. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
You are responsible for your account, your credentials, and any API keys you create, and for all activity that happens under them. Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
You own the content you create. You grant us a limited license to store, sync, process, display, and — for notes you mark public or unlisted — publish that content as needed to operate the Service. You are responsible for your content and for ensuring you have the rights to publish it.
You agree not to use the Service to:
You are responsible for any agents, automations, and integrations you connect to your account, and for the prompts and actions they take on your behalf. On-device AI runs locally on your device. If you connect an external AI provider, your use of that provider is governed by its own terms, and you are responsible for any content sent to it.
Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until canceled. You can cancel at any time, and your plan remains active through the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable for partial periods. We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice.
The Service, including its software, design, and the Collected Notes name and logo, is owned by us and protected by law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service — not the right to copy or resell it.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. You can export your notes before you go.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own copies of important content.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Collected Notes and Alfajor LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will note changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
