Why this exists.
I wanted one folder of Markdown notes that I could write in from my phone and my agent could write in from my Mac. I couldn't find one, so I built it.
Agents work in folders of Markdown — plans, decisions, half-written notes — and they forget all of it between sessions. Nothing keeps that folder in one place you can reach from the train. Collected Notes is that place: you write on your phone, your agent writes on your Mac or a server, and it is the same note either way.
The second half is memory. Everything either of you writes is indexed by meaning, so months later you can ask what you decided about something and get the note instead of a search results page. Your agent asks the same question the same way.
Your notes stay .md files, on your machines and in the app. Sync runs both ways, export takes one click, and the format is the one your agent already reads. There is nothing proprietary to escape from later.
Publishing is still here. Any note can become a fast page on your own domain — a changelog, docs, a blog — and plenty of people use Collected Notes for exactly that. It is a setting now rather than the reason the product exists.
So if you want a workspace that writes back — give Collected Notes a try. It's not for everyone. That's kind of the point.
